Tie Dye Leopards!!

Hi Guys!!

I've just realise that I've went straight back into my leopard print obsession and I will try my hardest to get out of this rut!
But these are my favourite nails to date I think just because they are so colourful and Summery!
The process for doing the backgroud was that I chose 4 different colours for each nail and sponged then on to make a blended mix of awesome colourfulness and I did this on my best friends nails and I had to copy it because I was so jealous that I had done this on her nails and not my own! Haha! But I added Leopard Print on top and now that she has seen this she wants this done too!

I hope you all like these!!

My opinion on fake nails!

Hey Guys!

Ever since I started doing nail art I have never really been interested in wearing fake nails because i could always just paint my own nails instead! But last week I went to a party for one of my friends birthdays and so I did 2 of my other friends nails for it the night before so because I knew I that I wouldn't have any time to do my own nails then I decided that I would finally try fake nails!

I had always heard that they can really damage your nails due to the glue that you need to use (but I;m not entirely sure that this is fact or not!). So I decided to Google whether or not you could simply use a top coat to apply then to which I found that you could but however they wouldn't understandably last as long as they would if you had used glue. And they really didn't lie! Haha! I stuck them on during the day a few hours before the party adn when I first stuck them on they felt SO strange and it took me a good few hours before they felt any sort of normal!
When I got to the party for a few hours they were fine but after, I would say Midnight (and admittedly, a few drinks! Ha!) they started to fall off and to be honest were just such a hassle! constantly having to watch what I was doing just in case another fell off and also after I had lost one I felt so self concious that people were looking at my missing nail!
But this may be my fault because I was thinking about it after it happened and maybe I just sized them wrong but im not sure because I did actually take my time!

So to conclude my fake nail experience I think from now on  I'll just make the time to paint my natural nails and the worst case scenario would be that on a night out they chip a tad rather than coming off completely! But anyways I'll include photos of what they looked like because I did really love the design!
P.s. Sorry for the rant but I wanted to share! Ha!

I hope you all liked my rant!!

A beetlejuiced Leopard?!

Hey!!

This design was done by using my Models Own Beetlejuice nail polish (which I have a review on) used for the print itself on  a background of coral and I think that the colours go brilliantly!

I found the last Golden Ticket!!

Hey Guys!!

I wanted to show you another nail polish that I bought recently that I love! It's the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Golden Ticket!

It's so pretty in any light but what I found was that it is a tad sheer with just one coat so for these photos I applied three coats! Having said that though I thought that one coat was actually pretty aswell! I think that this is a grown up glitter, if that makes any sense, and what I mean by that is that if you're unlike me and you want to have pretty nails but they're not to in your face then this is perfect! I suppose a better word would be that it is a subtle glitter because of the tone of it! I love the fact that it's subtle because it's a nice change from something so bold!!

Galaxy Nails: Take 2

Hey guys!

I know that I keep on saying that I'll be back with more designs but I haven't and I do apologize about that but I had to finish uni and then study for my exams so I found no time to post designs but i did take photos so I'm a tad back dated! which is in the process of being sorted out! So I have finished uni for he Summer which means that I can now spend more time on new designs!!

But for the time being I have another set of Galaxy Nails for you which I did on my own nails as opposed to doing them on fake nails and I loved this on my nails and I also got so many compliments on it!!

The thing I love about these types of designs is that I have never had one finger the looks the same and so they're always so varied and colourful! Because these nails were done with the exact same colours as before but they turned out so differently which I love!

Realistic vs Colourful!

Hey Guys!!

I have been doing leopard print nails for a while now and this design has become one of my favourites but I realised that I have always chosen really bright colours! And so I decided that I would do a more realistic colour choice to see if I liked it or not. And after I painted it I decided that I really like it (even though it isn't fully realistic because I sponged on some gold to make it a bit less flat! Ha!)
However because I love colour so much I do prefer mosr colourful leopard prints but I can appreciate the more realistic colour choice because it looks a lot more grown up and understated compared to the bright colours!

What do you think? Do you prefer the more colourful colour choices or the more realistic ones?

Sponged leopards!

Hi Guys!

I was looking through Tumblr the other day and I came across this photo: http://hausoflacquer.com/post/21447639027/liked-the-color-combo-on-this-topshop-shirt-so-i

Gradient Leopard Print!!

Hey Guys!
I wanted to apply the gradient thing onto one of my favourite designs and I think it turned out really well! I will be wearing this lots nad lots this Summer but changing the colours!
I only tried this out with pinks and blues but I'm interested to see what it would look like in other colours and I'll be sure to upload photos of other colours when I do them!

Gradient Nails Take 2!

I wanted to try gradient nails again, this time using three shades rather than two, which was what I tried previously! I think these worked out so much better than my first try!

Lolly POPS!

Hi Guys!

I was playing about with some ideas and I decided that I wanted to do something to do with gradients.

As much as I love the gradient ones, I decided to do last more colourful one on my nails and I think that they're so suitable for this time of year I absolutely love them! :D

I hope you all liked this!!

Beads and Sequins!

Hi Guys!

I saw that Ciate was brining out new Caviar Manicure sets and I was very intrigued, I had watched a video on Youtube that Dulce Candy had done a few months ago and she did this type of manicure herself and so I wanted to give it a try too. Unfortunately I didnt have the right size of beads so I just used what I had. And I do like the final result however I will either have to get the Ciate one or find smaller beads somewhere!

I then decided to see what it would look like if I stuck sequins on instead of beads and these two are the results of what I did. The top photo was using smaller star sequins but they were too thick for nail art in my opinion and so I decided to try a thinner sequinn and it worked out a lot better.

BeetleJuice!

Hi guys!

I know I don't normally do these kind of review things but I loved this nail polish so much that I had to show you!
The Models Own Beetlejuice collection has been around for a good few months now and so I'm sure that there will be a million reviews on it but I've been meaning to put in an order ever since it came out but it was always sold out whenever I went to purchase it which just goes to show you how popular it has become and rightly so in my opinion! And so when my sister and her fiance got me a bottle of it as part of my birthday present (I turned 20 which means I'm no longer a teenager! I am so sad about this! :P) then I was so excited and I couldn't wait to try it out!
When I put the first coat of it on it looked a tad brown but still pretty but in my experience with this nail polish I needed to apply 3 coats in order to resemble how the polish looks in the bottle which, for me, isn't a huge problem it just means more drying time but not much more!
I also think that this collection of nail polishes are perfect for the sunny weather that's hopefully coming in the Summer because they look so pretty in the sun! :D

In all honesty photos really don't do this polish justice! It looks different and changes in every light and it's so shimmery it's unbelieveable!
So I really strongly recommend that if the Beetlejuice collection is avaliable to you to buy that you try it out!
I hope this review was ok as I've never really done one before!

Gradient nails!

Hi guys!!

The previous design that I posted used sponging and so I wanted to take this fairly simple technique and try my hand at gradient nails. I've seen these nails everywhere and I've never tried it before so with the confidence gained from the nebula design I decided to give it a try!

I know that it isn't exactly awe inspiring but it is my first attempt so please bear with me until I can get the blending of the two colours just right! I am thinking of experimenting with three shades instead of the two for making a better, more successful transition between the darkest and lightest shades. In this photo I only used two shades of green and it worked to a certain extent however I think adding a third shade will make them blend so much better and so I shall post my experimental nails as soon as I do them!

I hope you all like!

Galaxy/Nebula Nails!!!

Hi Guys!

I am so, so excited to share these with you! I absolutely love these and I think that they look so nice and pretty! Although the camera I used is showing the orange/yellow as brown so I might have to get a better camera for this design but I couldn't wait till then!

They were so much more simple than I anticipated when using a sponge. I know that there's a huge number of tutorials and guides on how to get these nails but I thought that I'd just tell you what I did.

  1. I painted a base of either black, dark purple or dark blue depending on how I wanted the nail to look. However what I found when I was sponging was that I covered the majority of the base colour so as long as the base is a dark colour then it didn't  really matter.
  2. I then took a selection of some colours of nail polish (I took a lot just to experiment with and I really loved how it turned out with many colours!) I had a look on Tumblr of Nebulas and took my colour selections from there!
  3. I then took an ordinary kitchen sponge and cut it up to make small pieces. (I think most people use a make up sponge but considering that I don't use them or own any then I used what came to hand and that was a kitchen sponge cut up.)
  4. I sponged on white first to get the shape and direction that I wanted the Nebula to go in and then added the colours on top of that. This also helped the colours to stand out better against the dark base.
  5. I then sponged the appropriate colours on to make it blend and I then added other colours to add more dimention to the design.
  6. I then took a cocktail stick or tooth pick and added small dots and few larger ones to represent stars.
  7. I then added a top coat and what I found was that it was better to add a thicker layer of top coat when the design was a little bit wet just because it made the colours blend nicely. But just remember to use a very light touch when you're applying the top coat to wet polish just becasue its then that it's possible to drag the design and also to use a thick layer of top coat too!
  8. Then wait for it to dry and go and show everyone what you have done! That's exactly what I did!
  9.

These are the base colours that I used and the top coat that I am using just now!

These are the cool toned colours that I used to sponge on the nebulas (apart from the yellow but that's ok! Ha!)

These are the warm toned colours that I used to create the Nebulas and the white polish that I used first.

I Hope you all love these as much as I do!!
