Sponged leopards!

Hi Guys!

I was looking through Tumblr the other day and I came across this photo: http://hausoflacquer.com/post/21447639027/liked-the-color-combo-on-this-topshop-shirt-so-i
and I fell in love with it so I wanted to try it out for myself using different colours!

I hope you all like this!!

I mustache you a question!

Hi Guys!

I love wee cartoon Mustaches and so I drew a couple for you guys! Simple as that really! Ha!

I hope you all like these!

Gradient Leopard Print!!

Hey Guys!
I wanted to apply the gradient thing onto one of my favourite designs and I think it turned out really well! I will be wearing this lots nad lots this Summer but changing the colours!
I only tried this out with pinks and blues but I'm interested to see what it would look like in other colours and I'll be sure to upload photos of other colours when I do them!

I Hope you all like this!!

Gradient Nails Take 2!

I wanted to try gradient nails again, this time using three shades rather than two, which was what I tried previously! I think these worked out so much better than my first try!

I hope you all like these!

Lolly POPS!

Hi Guys!

I was playing about with some ideas and I decided that I wanted to do something to do with gradients.

As much as I love the gradient ones, I decided to do last more colourful one on my nails and I think that they're so suitable for this time of year I absolutely love them! :D

I hope you all liked this!!

Beads and Sequins!

Hi Guys!

I saw that Ciate was brining out new Caviar Manicure sets and I was very intrigued, I had watched a video on Youtube that Dulce Candy had done a few months ago and she did this type of manicure herself and so I wanted to give it a try too. Unfortunately I didnt have the right size of beads so I just used what I had. And I do like the final result however I will either have to get the Ciate one or find smaller beads somewhere!

I then decided to see what it would look like if I stuck sequins on instead of beads and these two are the results of what I did. The top photo was using smaller star sequins but they were too thick for nail art in my opinion and so I decided to try a thinner sequinn and it worked out a lot better.

BeetleJuice!

Hi guys!

I know I don't normally do these kind of review things but I loved this nail polish so much that I had to show you!
The Models Own Beetlejuice collection has been around for a good few months now and so I'm sure that there will be a million reviews on it but I've been meaning to put in an order ever since it came out but it was always sold out whenever I went to purchase it which just goes to show you how popular it has become and rightly so in my opinion! And so when my sister and her fiance got me a bottle of it as part of my birthday present (I turned 20 which means I'm no longer a teenager! I am so sad about this! :P) then I was so excited and I couldn't wait to try it out!
When I put the first coat of it on it looked a tad brown but still pretty but in my experience with this nail polish I needed to apply 3 coats in order to resemble how the polish looks in the bottle which, for me, isn't a huge problem it just means more drying time but not much more!
I also think that this collection of nail polishes are perfect for the sunny weather that's hopefully coming in the Summer because they look so pretty in the sun! :D

In all honesty photos really don't do this polish justice! It looks different and changes in every light and it's so shimmery it's unbelieveable!
So I really strongly recommend that if the Beetlejuice collection is avaliable to you to buy that you try it out!
I hope this review was ok as I've never really done one before!

Gradient nails!

Hi guys!!

The previous design that I posted used sponging and so I wanted to take this fairly simple technique and try my hand at gradient nails. I've seen these nails everywhere and I've never tried it before so with the confidence gained from the nebula design I decided to give it a try!

I know that it isn't exactly awe inspiring but it is my first attempt so please bear with me until I can get the blending of the two colours just right! I am thinking of experimenting with three shades instead of the two for making a better, more successful transition between the darkest and lightest shades. In this photo I only used two shades of green and it worked to a certain extent however I think adding a third shade will make them blend so much better and so I shall post my experimental nails as soon as I do them!

I hope you all like!

Galaxy/Nebula Nails!!!

Hi Guys!

I am so, so excited to share these with you! I absolutely love these and I think that they look so nice and pretty! Although the camera I used is showing the orange/yellow as brown so I might have to get a better camera for this design but I couldn't wait till then!

They were so much more simple than I anticipated when using a sponge. I know that there's a huge number of tutorials and guides on how to get these nails but I thought that I'd just tell you what I did.

  1. I painted a base of either black, dark purple or dark blue depending on how I wanted the nail to look. However what I found when I was sponging was that I covered the majority of the base colour so as long as the base is a dark colour then it didn't  really matter.
  2. I then took a selection of some colours of nail polish (I took a lot just to experiment with and I really loved how it turned out with many colours!) I had a look on Tumblr of Nebulas and took my colour selections from there!
  3. I then took an ordinary kitchen sponge and cut it up to make small pieces. (I think most people use a make up sponge but considering that I don't use them or own any then I used what came to hand and that was a kitchen sponge cut up.)
  4. I sponged on white first to get the shape and direction that I wanted the Nebula to go in and then added the colours on top of that. This also helped the colours to stand out better against the dark base.
  5. I then sponged the appropriate colours on to make it blend and I then added other colours to add more dimention to the design.
  6. I then took a cocktail stick or tooth pick and added small dots and few larger ones to represent stars.
  7. I then added a top coat and what I found was that it was better to add a thicker layer of top coat when the design was a little bit wet just because it made the colours blend nicely. But just remember to use a very light touch when you're applying the top coat to wet polish just becasue its then that it's possible to drag the design and also to use a thick layer of top coat too!
  8. Then wait for it to dry and go and show everyone what you have done! That's exactly what I did!
  9.

These are the base colours that I used and the top coat that I am using just now!

These are the cool toned colours that I used to sponge on the nebulas (apart from the yellow but that's ok! Ha!)

These are the warm toned colours that I used to create the Nebulas and the white polish that I used first.

I Hope you all love these as much as I do!!

'Oh! 'Eat me'. All right. But goodness knows what this will do...'

Hi guys!

I think I saved the best and my favourite one for last! I'm so, so happy at how this one turned out. It's so girly and cute and I don't think it would be out of place in the wee box full of growth sweets/biscuits.

I really, really hope you all like this as much as I do!!

'Of course not. This is an unbirthday party.'

Hi Guys!

I left my favourite character for last! The Mad Hatter! He is just sheer brilliance. He loves tea just as much as I do and he's a tad loopy which I really love about him!!

Hope you all like this!!

'If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.'

Hello Guys!

Today is the turn of Alice's design to be posted! I decided to go down the kind of abstract road. (Sorry for that description. CRINGE!! haa!) But my artistic skills are no where near as good as they have to be to paint a decent Alice so I decided to just take her elements and make, in my opinion, a unique design. I haven't seen this before and i love it!

This is my version of, what the ladies of Wah Nails call a double french. The white is meant to represent the white apron type thing on Alice's dress, the blue is obviously her dress, the Black is her hairband with a little bow and the yellow is supposed to represent ther hair! I hope I pulled that one off! Haha!

I really hope you all like this!!

'I'm late I'm late For a very important date. No time to say "Hello, Goodbye". I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.'

Hey Guys!!

I'm posting the white rabbits pocket watch today! This wee rabbit is one of the cutest rabbits ever! He wears people clothes! Haha! I love him!

Hope you all like this!!

'Who's been painting my roses red?'

Hi Guys!!

Today's Alice In Wonderland's design is one of the Queen of Hearts rose bushes which has had to have the roses painted red because the cards made a mistake in planting white roses when the Queen only likes red roses!

Hope you all like this!!

'Oh, you can't help that. Most everyone's mad here.'

Hi Guys!

I'm posting my Cheshire Cat design. He is one of my most favourite characters of the whole film! I only included his mouth with a really wide smile because that's the most striking thing about him! The colours also seem to be a bit too dark for him but I actually really like that fact!

Hope you all liked this!!

'Not me, your grace! The ace, the ace! '

Hi Guys!!

Today I'm posting the Ace! Yes he does need a face but I think you'll get the idea!

Hope you all liked this!!

'Just what species or, shall we say, genus are you, my dear?'

Hi Guys!

Today, believe it or not I'm posting one of the flowers, I think it's called a pansie. I think they are so cute in the film! My design is more probably an insult to Disney but I love it. (Sorry! Ha!)

Hope You All Like This!

'Off with their heads!!'

Hey guys!!

The first design of this series is the Queen of Hearts Crown. It is very simple indeed so I decided to dust sone gold glitter over the crown to make it a tad more interesting!

Hope You All Like It!

Alice In Wonderland!!

Hi guys!

I decided that I wanted to start a little kind of series, so I chose to do a set of nine designs based on one of my favourite Disney films, Alice In Wonderland. I really enjoyed coming up with designs for them so I am considering doing this for other films or just anything really that I love. What do you all think? As always they are simple designs but I love them all so I'm really happy with this!

I also feel as if I've neglected you guys so this series idea is perfect!
